For my Halloween costume this year I collaborated with DressLily for this zombie bride look. Keep on reading forward to see what it includes! They did have some Halloween themed items but I chose my outfit from the regular section, because I wanted to do more of a DIY. I chose this lace dress as the “wedding dress” and also included a fluffy tulle skirt to bring more volume to the hem. For accessories I got a little chain evening bag and this cool antique looking bracelet. On to messing up all the pretty white items: First I started ripping up the dress with a knife and scissors. It’s good to distress the neckline, arm holes and the hemline so it doesn’t look too new and clean. I also went all over the dress with a knife and just ripped up the lace. For the under skirt I only focused on the hem since it’s the only part showing from under the dress. Next I took a bottle of fake blood and just started applying it with a sponge first to make it spread on the dress. Then holding the dress up I dripped the blood on to the dress and let it stay like that. These ones are going to take a little longer to dry because the drips are thicker. For the skirt I did the same thing again focusing on the hem and also put a little fake blood on the purse and the bracelet. The make up for this look is really easy to do and you can do it just with basic make up and some fake blood. No need to buy tons of special products.I started with applying brown, violet and black eyeshadow all over my eyes. Don’t be afraid to go really high up to your eyebrows and really down under your eyes with the color, that’s what’s going to create the dead look. Then I just made some bruises all over my face with the same eyeshadows. It’s good to dab the color on with a smaller brush and then blend and brush off the extra with a big brush. For the bruises I also added in some green and orange tones to give them more of a colorful and realistic look. You can make a cool texture to your wounds with eyelash glue. I put spots of glue over the bruises and when the glue was dry, I ripped off the glue from the middle of the spot to make it look like an open wound. Then I just added some blood colored lipstick and the fake blood to the wounds. A sponge is good to use to apply the blood it you want it to look splattered. For the final touch I just teased my hair to make it big and messy and also put some fake blood on my arms and legs. And here’s the finished look!
